CAMPLIN CONNECTIONS

According to Burke's general armoury, the name Camplin is associated with a coat of arms (shield) as follows;

BLUE, THREE GOLD ARROWS WITH BARBS AND FEATHERS; ON A GOLDUPPER THIRD, THREE NATURALLY COLOURED BLACK MOORS' HEADS.

The surname Camplin is based on locational and occupational origins. According to Burke's peerage, it is associated with the English meaning "one who came from camlin; a maker or seller of camel-hair cloth". It is quite possible there are other meanings and interpretations.
